AWP Scores 2 Gold, Silver From the 2022 Davey Awards
A Willing Participant, Inc. (AWP) is pleased to announce another round of recent wins for our creative work, this time from the 18th Annual Davey Awards.
At the 2022 Davey Awards, AWP took home two Gold honors for the video short, "30 Years of Igniting Academic Achievement," which was produced for AWP's educational nonprofit client Accelerate Institute. AWP received one Silver honor for the short as well. The categories for each award were:
Gold: Film/Video Social Good for Non-Broadcast
Gold: Film/Video Craft-Editing for Non-Broadcast
Silver: Film/Video Charitable/Non-Profit for Non-Broadcast
Accelerate Institute was originally established as the Inner-City Teaching Corps in Chicago in 1992. Although the organization initially worked with Chicago-area teachers, Accelerate Institute has evolved to develop and support 100s of school leaders on the national level today.
"30 Years of Igniting Academic Achievement," which was produced to commemorate Accelerate Institute's 30th anniversary, largely focuses on the stories of Taylor K. Shaw and Martin Hunter, who are alumni of Alain Locke Charter School in Chicago's East Garfield Park neighborhood. It features the organizations' leadership, staff and partner educators as well.

The 2022 Davey Awards received more than 2,000 submissions from small creative shops from around the world, according to a press release from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), the organization behind the annual awards. The AIVA includes members from organizations such as Spotify, Nissan, Microsoft, PGA Tour, and Wired.
